School Discipline

  • Attendance- It is compulsory for all students to attend the Assembly in the morning. Students should arrive at school 10 minutes before the first bell rings. At the stroke of the FIRST BELL all must stop wherever they are and reach the assembly place and form lines. At the stroke of the SECOND BELL, the school prays together as the saying goes, “A family that prays together stays together”.
  • Coming late to school is a punishable offence. The school gates are closed after the bell for the assembly. Attendance for late comers will be marked in the school calendar. In that event the student’s parents will be asked to meet the Principal.Absconding from class/school shall straight away invite punishment of suspension/dismissal.
  • No student will absent himself/ herself from school without leave. Only for weighty reasons will leave be granted after an application is submitted personally by the parent/ guardian to the principal. However, no leave will be granted for absence just before or after Dussehra, Diwali, Christmas and other such holidays or during the first week of the session. Those absent because of sickness must inform the school before or on the reopening day. If sick, a medical certificate must be submitted, failing which they must pay the above penalty. Separate leave notes should be submitted if brothers/sisters are in different classes. Students should submit leave applications from the parent, countersigned by the Principal, on the next day of their absence from the school or else they will be fined for the absence.
  • Entries in the calendar must be countersigned by the parent/ guardian where necessary. Pupils who are absent for more than a fortnight without a leave application will be struck off the rolls. They will not be re-admitted.
  • Written permission of the Principal is required for students to leave the school premises. Parents are requested, except in case of real necessity, not to apply to the Principal to allow their children to leave the school before the final bell rings to end the school day. Children will not be sent home even in an emergency with anyone who might come for them during the school hours without a written request from the parent/ guardian.
  • All major permissions should be directly obtained from the Principal.
  • Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, neglect of homework, disobedience and disrespect towards members of the staff or bad moral influence, justify dismissal. Pupils are responsible towards the school. Making noise, shouting, talking loudly, whistling, fighting, using foul language, stealing, damaging school property, bad conduct in and outside the school, are severely punishable offences. In such matters the Principal’s decision is final.
  • No student shall scratch, spoil or damage any school furniture or any other property of the school, or draw or write anything anywhere on any of the school property or the property of other students or teachers, even by accident or ignorance. Such cases should immediately be reported to the class teacher/ principal. The financial part of the damage shall b e paid by the offender, who shall be subject to further action as deemed fit by the Principal.
  • Students are strictly forbidden to bring electronics, comics, mobiles or objectionable literature to school. In such cases these articles will be confiscated and further disciplinary action taken. A penalty in the form of a fine will be charged.
  • Attendance at official school functions such as Sports Day, Independence Day, Republic Day, Annual Prize Distribution Day, Children’s Day, etc is compulsory.
  • Students are not permitted to purchase any article of food from unauthorized vendors at or near the school premises.
  • Pupils are responsible for their own books, pens, calculators, cycles, cardigans, Tiffin boxes or any other article they may bring to school. The school is not responsible for any loss incurred. Articles that are found in school premises should be deposited in the Office. Students are also advised not to bring any expensive items to school.
  • Only English should be spoken within the school premises for “English has today become one of the major languages of the world, and Indians can neglect its study only at the risk of loss to themselves. MAULANA ABDUL KALAM AZAD
  • Every pupil of the school is required to have a copy of the calendar. He/She should moreover make him/ her well acquainted with the rules and obey them. The calendar must be brought to school everyday.
  • No student will remain in the classroom during the recess. The classroom door will be latched by the monitor. In case of any breakage or damaging of the furniture, the student responsible will be fined.
  • Any student out of the classroom during teaching periods have to get a slip from the teacher concerned duly signed with the period, time and date, without which no student will be permitted to move around.
  • Half day leave will not be permitted. In case of an emergency or any religious function the student can take leave and stay at home.
  • Pupil who has been suffering from or who has been in contact with any infectious disease must produce a medical certificate (from a competent authority) that he may attend school without risk of conveying infection.
  • The students should be particularly careful not to throw any polythene bags, papers, peels, seeds etc in the school premises. They should use the dustbin especially provided for this purpose.
